The Dallas Cowboys aren’t know for making big splash signings in free agency. Here are three potential free agent targets that are more their speed.

The Dallas Cowboys say they prefer building their roster through the draft. Yet, last season, Dallas proved they like to throw money away on free agents as well. In the past couple years, the Cowboys have signed free agents like cornerback Nolan Carroll and defensive tackle Cedric Thornton to pricey deals only for them to turn sour very quickly. Both players weren’t even on the roster past last October.

So if the Cowboys are actually going to spend money in free agency, how about they stop scraping the bottom of the barrel and start signing some half-way decent veterans who have a chance of staying on the roster an entire season or two. Therefore, here are our three modest suggestions as potential targets for the Cowboys when the free agent market opens next month.

Josh Kline, Guard

With both Jonathan Cooper and Byron Bell currently free agents themselves, the Cowboys could be on the lookout for an upgrade at the left guard position. Josh Kline seems to be a player that Dallas would have interest in. A former New England Patriot (which they love), Kline has been a part of the Tennessee Titans the past two seasons starting in 30 games. At only 28, Kline is the fifth highest rank guard available in free agency according to Pro Football Focus.

Taylor Gabriel, Wide Receiver

The Cowboys are in desperate need of a speedster at wide receiver. Former Atlanta Falcons blazer Taylor Gabriel is just 27-years old and has a motor locked in turbo. Although his skill set is limited, the 5-foot-8, 165 pound receiver could be the constant deep threat that takes to tops off of opposing defenses and allows Dallas’ other wide receivers to get more open looks underneath.

NaVorro Bowman, Linebacker

Before signing with the Oakland Raiders in Week Seven of last year, NaVorro Bowman was scheduled to meet with the Cowboys. Oakland simply never let that happen. Now a free agent, the Cowboys have a chance to ink the 29-year old who racked up an incredible 89 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception in only 10 games as a Raider last season.
