4. What coaching changes?

Okay, so I’m not all about Kellen Moore taking over quarterback coaching duties in Big D. At first, Scott Linehan maybe or maybe not be out of Dallas. He stayed. Now, he’s bringing along his project pet. Okay. Cool, I guess.

And then there’s the matter of if the Cowboys made enough changes in the coaching ranks. Ask most fans these days and they’ll tell you an emphatic no. With Jason Garrett back as the head coach, the fan base can only oil their eyeballs up for all the eye rolls when Garrett decides to clap again and again.

The coaching changes in Dallas were part of some lip service — nothing else. Could I be wrong? I welcome that opportunity. So, let’s see how it goes.

5. What should the Cowboys do with the 19th overall pick?

Wide receiver. Tight end. Cornerback. Offensive line or defensive line?

The Cowboys, obviously, got to get this right. My take is to skip the cornerback room and tight ends all together. Rico Gathers, the other experiment, needs to pay out. I love the cornerbacks on the roster, with or without Orlando Scandrick.

This leaves the wide receiver core, offensive line and adding quarterback pressure as the must-haves. I think Jaylon Smith has progressed well, but the Cowboys need depth and size at the linebackers spot as well.

Whatever the ‘Boys choose to exercise with the 19th pick, experiments should be last on the list. The Cowboys played around with Randy Gregory and Taco Charlton; it’s time to get a major return on their investments immediately. With the Eagles capturing the first title, the Cowboys have to aim for the now.
