Before we configure our mock drafts, the Dallas Cowboys still have some lingering questions. Here are five questions I have before the NFL Draft.

It’s time to start thinking about the NFL Draft. Like the rest of the other 31 teams, the Dallas Cowboys have a fresh start. With this year’s draft starting on April 26th, here are five lingering questions I have.

Let me know your questions and answers. If you have questions of your own, leave a comment. You can also send me a tweet. @Michael_Vu_

And, we’re off!

1. Taco Charlton over T.J. Watt?

Honestly, I still liked offensive lineman Ryan Ramczyk over both Taco and T.J. But, you can’t always get what you want, right? Well, except the New Orleans Saints.

For me, my thinking is instead of exercising your first rounder on an experiment, why not secure top talent, and sharpen the knife further?

In 2017, the offensive line took a shot. They were tested. Players left, and the Cowboys were left to try out a new configuration. That didn’t always pan out, but of course, Dallas was without their top rusher in Ezekiel Elliott.

But, let’s steer this question back to Charlton and Watt? Did the Cowboys make the right choice with the 28th overall pick in 2017? Obviously, time will tell. With one year in the books, we might have a glimpse into the future.

Numbers wise, Watt had a better year, and the Pittsburgh Steelers excelled overall too. How much did Watt contribute?

Charlton had 15 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in 2017. In contrast, Watt started 15 games. He had one pick, seven pass deflections, one forced fumble, seven sacks and 39 tackles. So, who had the better year? Or, the better question is this: Who will have a better career?
