After a down year, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott vows to improve his passing accuracy going into this third NFL season.

One of the biggest issues surrounding quarterback Dak Prescott coming out of Mississippi State in 2016 was his passing accuracy issues. It’s one of the reasons he tumbled down the NFL Draft to the Dallas Cowboys late in the fourth round, the 135th overall selection.

So you can imagine the shock when Prescott finished fourth in the NFL in passing accuracy his rookie season (67.8) above veteran passers like New England’s Tom Brady and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers. It was all part of a fairy-tale rookie season for the former Bulldog, who would go on to lead the Cowboys to a 13-3 record, a bid in the division round of the playoffs and to ultimately dethrone quarterback Tony Romo in Dallas.

But in his second season, Prescott’s completion percentage dropped to 62.9%. Dak posted some of the worst games of his football career, more than tripling the interception total from his rookie year (From four picks to 13). But Prescott also suffered from a severe lack of support in year two due to offensive line injuries, poor wide receiver play and the absence of superstar running back Ezekiel Elliott for six games midseason.

This offseason, Prescott will be hard at work trying to iron out all of those wrinkles in his game that suddenly became visible in year two. One of those areas will be his passing accuracy.

"“I think going forward, I’ve just got to make sure I work on every aspect of my game,” Prescott told Colin Cowherd during an interview on The Herd. “If it’s being a leader on and off the field, if it’s making sure I keep my feet under me and making sure I make all the throws consistently and accurately. So accuracy is one of the things I’m making sure that I focus on. But it’s hard for me to just say one thing right now.”"

During his sophomore season at Mississippi State, Dak Prescott posted a college career-low completion percentage of 58.4%. Through hard work and training, Prescott was able to lift his accuracy to 66.2% by his senior year. Let’s see if Dak can do the same following his sophomore season in Dallas.
