With the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl set to take place this weekend, we take a crack at which Dallas Cowboys might be named to the event next year.

The Dallas Cowboys have three of their players representing them in this weekend’s annual NFL All-Star game, the Pro Bowl. Those players being tight end Jason Witten, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and center Travis Frederick. Both Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith and right guard Zack Martin were also named to the Pro Bowl, but injury is keeping them out of the actual event.

Despite their presence, there were several Cowboys who did not receive an invite following a disappointing 2017 campaign in Dallas. On the brink of a new season, we’ll try to forecast the future and determine just how many Cowboy players we believe will be named to the Pro Bowl next year.

Here are our best guesses …

Ezekiel Elliott, Running Back
Jason Witten, Tight End
Tyron Smith, Left Tackle
Travis Frederick, Center
Zack Martin, Right Guard
La’el Collins, Right Tackle
Sean Lee, Linebacker
Ryan Switzer, Kick Returner

After a six-game suspension, Elliott still almost had his second 1,000-yard season last year. If Zeke plays a full 16-games in 2018, he’s almost a shoo-in. The trio of Smith, Frederick and Martin make an appearance again. But next year, they are joined by Collins – making the Cowboys offensive line the stuff of legend.

Defensively, it’s hard to imagine Lawrence having another 10-sack season. Especially with opposing offensive coordinators scheming for him for the entire year this go-around. But I do think Lee returns to form in 2018. The veteran linebacker would have easily been a Pro Bowler this past season if he was healthier.

Finally, our bold prediction of the bunch is Switzer making the Pro Bowl as a return specialist. After a slow start, the dynamic domino began to flash his swagger as a returner near the end of the season. With full confidence going into season two, we predict Switzer becomes a league sensation.
