Dallas Cowboy: Craziest things said after the 2017 season
The Dallas Cowboys have a strong fan base. But not all the talk is healthy. Following the 2017 season, let’s go over all the craziest comments.
Nobody likes losing. For the Dallas Cowboys, losing has been a way of life since, well, 1995. Yup. It’s been a long time since fans have tasted some of that silver Lombardi.
In the meantime, fans have grown angrier, impatient, and downright testy. That’s not surprising, though. America’s Team, whether you like it or not, has been a staple in television ratings over the years. This is despite the lack of blockbuster seasons since the 1990s.
What is a bit surprising are some of the ideas and words following another down season. Yes, the Cowboys fell to 9-7 in 2017. No, this isn’t the end the world. And no, Jason Garrett didn’t get fired. But you knew that one already, right?
Well, here we are Cowboys Nation — on the couch, again. During the playoffs race. Complied below are some of the craziest things I’ve read about our Cowboys.
Call me crazy. Or, I call you crazy. Either way, here are some of the craziest comments and overreactions by yours truly, you fans!
Tony Romo calls it a comeback
We have to let this one go. But, something tells me this idea isn’t going anywhere for a long, long time.
Look, I’d think it would be incredibly cool to see number nine run down the tunnel one more time. Imagine the storylines. Imagine all the eyeballs over that narrative.
So, let me be the one to pop that bubble for you. It’s not going to happen. Stop wishing for it. Romo’s body — not brain — dictated his final playing days. Plus, the guy has an awesome life at home with his wife and kids.
Let the guy retire. Let the current quarterback have his day. Romo has a new job; to call games on Sunday. Folks, he’s not coming back. Let it go, friends.
The quarterback is overrated
Guys, come on.
The 135th overall pick in 2016, had a 86.6 quarterback rating and over three thousand yards in 2017. Yes, his numbers slid. Yes, he was exposed without Ezekiel Elliott and played quarterback with a banged up offensive line.
Still, the six-foot two quarterback won the rookie of the year award in 2016. For all those Robert Griffin, Colin Kaepernick or any RG3 talk, know this: Dak is the Cowboys’ best shot at long-term success. It’s better to invest in Prescott, see where he leads the Cowboys and go from that point.
Romo isn’t (read: shouldn’t) coming back. So, you guessed it, it’s Dak time. Where’s all the love anyways?
