The Dallas Cowboys get the win they desperately needed, breaking a three-game losing streak, and defeating the Washington Redskins, 38-14.

The Dallas Cowboys came into Thursday night’s divisional matchup a shell of their former selves. Without either running back Ezekiel Elliott (suspension) or linebacker Sean Lee (injury) on the field, America’s Team simply fell apart.

In the midst of a historically bad three-game losing streak, Dallas needed a win to lift their spirits and keep their playoff hopes alive. Against the Redskins at AT&T Stadium on Thursday night, a victory is just what they got.

It was a tale of two quarters for the Cowboys in this Week 13 matchup. For the first and third quarters, both Dallas and Washington remained scoreless. Both offenses failed to produce while their defenses excelled. In the second and fourth quarters, the Redskins scored a combined 14 points. Dallas? A whopping 38 points!

After failing to score double digit points in their last three games, the Cowboys offense exploded for 38 points on Thursday night. Leading the way was quarterback Dak Prescott, who completed 11 of his 22 passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

Running back Alfred Morris had an amazing game, rushing for 127 yards and a score on 27 carries. His backup, Rod Smith, also ran for 27 yards and a score.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant led the Cowboys with five receptions for 61 yards and a trademark leaping score in the end zone. Tight end Jason Witten had one catch in the ball game, but it was for an eight-yard touchdown. Rookie wide out Ryan Switzer also had a 83-yard punt return for a score.

The Cowboys defense shined against the Redskins’ beat-up offensive line. Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence racked up four tackles, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble. Lawrence now leads the league with 13.5 sacks through 12 games. Also recording sacks were rookie defensive end Taco Charlton and defensive tackle David Irving.

Rookie cornerback Chidobe Awuzie had a terrific game, returning from a hamstring injury. But it was safety Jeff Heath and corner Anthony Brown who each recorded an interception.

Next: Cowboys should target Alabama receiver Calvin Ridley

With renewed life, the 6-6 Dallas Cowboys will now head to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey to face the 2-9 New York Giants. That game will air on FOX, Sunday, December 10th at 12:00 p.m. CT.
