Dallas Cowboys final injury report; Rookie ruled out
The Dallas Cowboys will have to face the San Francisco 49ers without a rookie on their defense. That information and more as we cover the final injury report.
The bye week could not have come at a better time for the Dallas Cowboys. After starting the season 2-1, the Cowboys dropped both their matchups with the Los Angeles Rams and the Green Bay Packers. Those back-to-back losses nosedived Dallas to third place in their division.
Their break in Week Six allowed the Cowboys to regroup and get healthier as they prepare to climb out of the 2-3 basement and back to prominence. On Friday, Dallas released their final injury report. And the team is set to face the winless San Francisco 49ers without their second round rookie.
Defensive back Chidobe Awuzie has already been ruled out for the Cowboys matchup against the Niners this Sunday. Awuzie has been struggling with a hamstring injury since training camp. And it appears the bye week wasn’t enough time for him to fully recover. The high draft selection has been practicing at safety as of late.
Questionable for Sunday’s game in San Francisco is veteran linebacker Justin Durant, who is struggling with a groin injury. Durant was limited at practice on Friday and is likely a game-time decision. Luckily for Dallas, it appears both Sean Lee and Anthony Hitchens will be able to play against the 49ers.
Lee has missed the team’s last two games due to a hamstring injury. The two-time Pro Bowl linebacker was a full participant in practice all this week. Hitchens returned to the field just prior to the bye week after suffering a knee injury in late August.
