David Irving, Defensive Lineman

Returning from a four game suspension for violating the league’s performance enhancing drug policy, it’s unclear how big of an impact defensive lineman David Irving will make in this contest. But the 24-year old defender had his breakout game against the Packers in Week Six of last season.

Racking up four total tackles, a sack, a pass defend and an amazing three forced fumbles, Irving captured Defensive Player of the Week honors for his play against Green Bay last season. And he did so on just 19 snaps!

Now entering his third season, Irving should see plenty opportunities on Sunday afternoon against the same team in which he found so much success last year. And considering the excellent play of defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the versatile lineman should see favorable looks as the Packers undoubtedly will be focused on “Tank” in this matchup.

The play of the Cowboys defensive line as been superb through four games of the new regular season. The addition of David Irving to the lineup should make this unit one of the best in the league.
