#6 – Dez Bryant, Wide Receiver

When your top wide receiver catches two passes for 12 yards, it’s hard to say his stock is on the rise. But beyond the numbers, it’s what Dez Bryant displayed on one of those receptions that lands him on this list.

On what may go down as one of Bryant’s best touchdown catches ever, Dez willed himself into the end zone on short pass from Prescott in the middle of the field. On his way to pay dirt, the veteran receiver juked All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson and bulldozed his way through four Cardinal defenders to put the Cowboys up 14-7 late in the third quarter.

Bryant’s score gave Dallas it’s first lead of the game. And his effort on the play sparked the Cowboys offense in the fourth quarter, leading them to score 14 points in the final frame.

The Cowboys number one receiver has received a lot of criticism as of late, mainly due to his high targets, lack of production and inability to gain separation from defenders. But Bryant has also faced a trio of the league’s top defensive backs in his first three games, limiting his effectiveness.

Dez Bryant’s heroic 15-yard touchdown catch and run seemed to embody all the frustration and negative talk, and turn it into pure effort and passion. Bryant’s impact may not be reflected on his stat sheet, but it certainly impacted the final score.
