The Dallas Cowboys had some young players stand out against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday Night. CowboysNation as a whole was deflated headed into Saturday’s exhibition game against the Rams with the news of a six game suspension for star running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Zeke’s ban dampened the mood of the fan base, the they needed something else to talk about. While the majority of the contest was a typical lackluster preseason showing, a few players were able to make their mark and standout.

Rico Gathers

The second-year tight end from Baylor has had quite the summer so far. He has played in both exhibition games and has 7 catches and 2 touchdowns. He looks like a man among boys out there running routes and could become a major weapon in the passing game.

Kavon Frazier

Kavon is another second-year player that is flashing while watching games. He is around the ball constantly, and has made several great tackles. He also picked up a fumble and had a nice return on a play that was called back after review.

Xavier Woods

This rookie safety was a one-man tackling machine on Saturday. Woods was all over the field flying to the ball and causing turnovers. He looks like a natural in the strong safety position and I believe his future is bright for the Cowboys.

Cooper Rush

There is something about the Los Angeles Coliseum and rookie quarterbacks for the Cowboys. Much like quarterback Dak Prescott, Cooper Rush was able to go out against the Rams and put on a show.

While veteran backup Kellen Moore struggled to move the ball, Rush looked fantastic and has fans asking if it’s time for a new number 2 signal caller for America’s Team.

Noah Brown

The rookie wide receiver from Ohio State wont standout much on the stat sheet. He standouts when you watch the game, though. Brown is a physical player that isn’t afraid to go over the middle, or get his feet wet while blocking. He’s the type of player you want to have on your roster because he’s willing to do the dirty work.
