Training camp is the perfect time for less heralded Dallas Cowboys to separate from the pack and serve notice of a breakout season.

Every training camp fans await a few players to emerge from the pack and show they’re destined for glory in the coming season.

Be it a newcomer exploding onto the scene or a familiar face seeking to recapture lost magic and win back over the faithful.

The 2017 Dallas Cowboys have plenty of known stars returning to do battle. This year there are a few hungry upgrades destined to share the spotlight.

There are three players worthy of keeping a close eye on during the exhibition season as they settle into new roles best suited for their skills.

RYAN SWITZER (Returner / Receiver)

If Cole Beasley wasn’t on this team filling the slot role like a champ, people would already be gushing over Switzer’s abilities on offense.

I have no doubt Switzer will get chances in the offense now that Lucky Whitehead is gone. Plus there will be the occasional pairing with Beasley in a specialty package.

Yet the contribution everyone will be buzzing about is the life Switzer breathes into the previously sluggish return game.

Switzer is a little keg of dynamite ready to explode at a moment’s notice. He’s one of those smaller guys who seems to hit a turbo switch when the ball snaps.

He’s taking the bulk of return reps in camp and it appears coaches have conceded he’ll be their go-to guy to gain field position.
