On Monday, July 24th, the Dallas Cowboys will take the field for their first practice of 2017 training camp in Oxnard, CA.

All but one offensive position has clear starters set in stone. At the same time, the defensive side of the ball is flooded with open competitions.

There’s a lot to cover with practice quickly approaching, so let’s dive right in.

LEFT GUARD (Winner: Green)

La’el Collins has impressed at tackle and will remain as the right anchor.

His departure from left guard creates a free for all between Byron Bell, Chaz Green, Joe Looney, and Jonathan Cooper.

While Cooper has the most NFL experience at the position, Green’s production will be more consistent and powerful.

Green proved worthy of upholding the Cowboys high standard of starting line play during his two starts at tackle last season.

If Green’s health holds up, which is a concern, he should land the starting role.
