Fit in Dallas

The fictional narrative about Kaepernick signing with another team is he won’t fit in the locker room. The prevailing thought in this argument is he is so polarizing that he will cause a division between the team.

Once again, this could not be further from the truth. Last season, Kaepernick was voted the recipient of the Len Eshmont Award. This award was voted on by his teammates, and is given to 49er who best exemplifies the inspirational and courageous play of former 49er, Len Eshmont.

Furthermore, 49ers players and coaches came out in defense of Kaepernick throughout the season, stating that he brought the team closer together. Former teammate and wide receiver, Torrey Smith had this to say in October.

"“Colin has handled that situation better than anyone could have imagined,” Smith told ESPN in October. “It hasn’t been a distraction in our locker room, and it probably helped him open up to a lot of our team and our teammates better. He’s been very open in communication about that as well as football.”"

If the Cowboys do decide to sign Kaepernick, it would be a great addition to the locker room, by all accounts. He would be another great role model on the team, as well as solidifying the backup quarterback position.

Dallas has more than enough cap space to sign him to at the very least a one year deal and fair market value. If the Cowboys are in win now mode, what reason do they have for not signing Kaepernick? He is the best quarterback on the market and improves your football team.

Hopefully, Dallas signs Kaepernick before this season starts. He is a good football player, at a fair price, who will not be a distraction, and would fit well in the locker room. If they do, its a move that fans should not begrudge, but feel proud of.
