Who is the Dallas Cowboys biggest threat in the NFC East?
The Washington Redskins
I really haven’t quite figured out the Redskins yet. Which probably makes sense because I don’t really think they have figured themselves out just yet either. Their contract debacle with quarterback Kirk Cousins and their front office vacancy have plagued their offseason up to this point.
However, if we’re just talking football then Cousins had an exceptional second year as the starting quarterback. The downside was his team missed the playoffs after claiming the division title in 2015. Even worse was he lost his top two starting wide receivers in free agency.

Running back Robert Kelley has emerged as the starter after taking over for Matt Jones last season due to fumbling issues. It’s been reported that Jones is as far down as fifth in the depth chart and hasn’t bothered showing up for voluntary OTA’s.
On a positive note, Cousins still has one of the best tight ends in the game in Jordan Reed.
In all honesty, I like their signing of wide receiver Terrelle Pryor. If the Cowboys weren’t able to keep wide receiver Terrance Williams, I would have liked Pryor in a Dallas uniform. He doesn’t pack the fire power that wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon gave but he helps fill the void.
On defense, despite his consistent trash talk, cornerback Josh Norman is still very capable lining up against the league’s best wide receivers. The ‘skins were also able to steal away Dallas’ starting defensive tackle Terrell McClain in free agency. Washington went all defense in the first three rounds of the draft to help a struggling unit that ranked 28th in total yards last year.
After watching their offseason unfold, it looks as if Washington may take a step back this year.
That leaves us with the Philadelphia Eagles…
