The Dallas Cowboys are heading into this season with a ton of new talent. However they could still be in the market to make a trade for a difference maker.

The Dallas Cowboys are marching into training camp with a youthful foundation and an iron clad focus that has been the staple of the Jason Garrett era. Tune the noise out and focus on the job at hand, these are the type of players the Cowboys look for especially for this upcoming season.

It would be surprising to see the Cowboys trade for any player who does not resemble that thought process. With that being said, it is pretty interesting to see Dallas keep taking chances on “problem” players and even though they did not seem to do that in the draft, there could be a few players they could take a chance on.

Veteran defensive players that can help out this young unit are at the very top of the list, and there are a couple the Cowboys could look to make a deal for.

Defensive Line: (Malcolm Brown/New England Patriots, Sheldon Richardson/New York Jets)

The Sheldon Richardson trade has been a rumor for quite some time. As the season gets closer, both the Cowboys and the Jets will be forced to ask themselves if they want to make something happen.

It already appears as if the Cowboys will pass on Richardson unless the price is extremely right. Stephen Jones has hinted at leaving some cap space for a potential trade, and with one year left on his deal, Richardson could be a possible candidate.

The more likely of the two at this point could be Patriot defensive lineman, Malcolm Brown as he is a youthful talent who is about to hit free agency in a year. The “Patriot way” does not consist of paying for talented players who are about to hit free agency, and they have been the most active team in terms of offseason trades.

The Patriots and Cowboys could have a pretty interesting discussion in terms of Brown’s contract and potential future.
