With OTAs beginning next week, it’s a great time to evaluate the current roster and rank the top ten Dallas Cowboys going into 2017.

Over the last few seasons the Dallas Cowboys have cultivated one of the best rosters in the NFL. Amazingly, they have been able to construct it without spending big in free agency, allowing the Cowboys enough cap space to resign their own players.

With Dallas absolutely crushing the NFL Draft recently, the talent level of the team has risen steadily. As we move forward into 2017 and beyond, fans should be elated with the star power on the roster. So without further ado, here are the top ten Cowboys.

Honorable Mention: Dan Bailey – Kicker

I couldn’t make this list without including Dan Bailey somehow. His importance to the Cowboys goes unquestioned.

10: Byron Jones – Free Safety

For the past two seasons, Byron Jones has been the Swiss-army knife of the Dallas secondary. He’s played at outside corner back, in the slot, as an in the box safety, and finally free safety. However, the downside of his versatility is that he hasn’t had time to maximize his potential at one position.

With the Cowboys going heavy on corner back and in the draft, Jones should be able to play free safety full-time. With his world-class athleticism, he should be able to develop into an All-Pro level player for Dallas.
