Analysis: Honestly, Colorado’s Chidobe Awuzie never was really on my radar for the Cowboys. I think Awuzie simply got lost in the shuffle of all the talented defensive backs touted to be in this draft class for me. But after watching some of his highlights and being educated by the talented crew over at DallasCowboys.com’s The Draft Show, I now understand why Chidobe became Dallas’ second round choice.
If this Cowboys coaching staff covets one thing, it’s position flex. And that’s exactly what Awuzie brings to this needy defensive secondary. Able to play outside, in the slot or even at safety, the versatile prospect gives Dallas so many options this season. Playing much bigger than his body, Awuzie is a willing tackler with playmaker ability and excellent speed. A big win for this team in the second round.
