Dallas Cowboys draft Taco Charlton: Twitter Reaction!
Twitter exploded following the Dallas Cowboys selection of Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
After months of mock drafts and build up, the Dallas Cowboys finally made their first selection of the 2017 NFL Draft on Thursday night. The pick? Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton.
The 22-year old pass rusher potentially fills one of the Cowboys biggest needs and might just give owner and general manager Jerry Jones the war daddy he proclaimed he wanted to find this offseason.
Charlton had one good year at Michigan posting 40 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 10.0 sacks last year for the Wolverines. Taco, whose first name is actually Vidauntae, is a quick twitch player whom many viewed as a developmental pass rusher. Thus giving Cowboys defensive coordinator, Rod Marinelli, a raw first round talent to mold.
Regardless of how you might feel about the pick, Charlton’s selection fills a major need on the Cowboys roster. With their defensive line now seemingly shored up, Dallas will undoubtedly focus on filling the various voids along their defensive secondary in days two and three of the draft.
Immediately following the selection of Taco in Dallas, many new teammates, celebrities, his school, media members and fans took to social media to welcome, criticize and analyze the selection. Below, we’ve collected some of the more entertaining Tweets about the Cowboys newest player.
