ROUND 1, PICK 28: CB Kevin King – Washington

King is going all over the first round in most mock drafts for good reason.  At 6’3″ he has the size the Dallas Cowboys covet.  He also ran a sub 4.5-40.  The war room will be ecstatic on the night of the 27th if this comes into fruition.  I believe the number of fans who would prefer either end named above over King is minimal as well.

Both versions of my previous mock drafts stuck with one specific player coming to the Cowboys in round two.  Obviously, I’m personally in love with Iowa safety Desmond King.

With eight interceptions in his junior year and 14 in his career, to go along with 33 pass breakups, King is the ballhawk this team has desperately been searching for quite some time.  Pairing him next to Byron Jones at safety would give Dallas a dynamic young tandem for many years to come.

The problem for me this time around was that the guy I keep choosing in round three was also available with the 60th pick.  Kansas State defensive end Jordan Willis is soaring up draft boards as well.  He has top-level athleticism at a huge position of need.  The production in college is there as well with 26 career sacks and 40 tackles for loss.

Fortunately, I guess, the decision was made for me as King was chosen two spots ahead of me in round two.  Therefore, in my third mock draft, the selection was easy.
