A draft insider reveals that the Dallas Cowboys have only two offensive prospects scheduled on as part of their 30 pre-draft visits.

Every NFL team, including the Dallas Cowboys, are allowed to have 30 official visits with prospects prior to the NFL Draft that takes place later this month.

That list of scheduled visitors is never released to the public. But in the age of social media, names get leaked every season. And this year, the Cowboys possible 30 visits is no exception.

Earlier this week, Albert Breer of the MMQB.com claimed that sources revealed to him the names of 18 different prospects on that list for the Cowboys:

Kevin King, CB, Washington
Obi Melifonwu, DB, UConn
Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA
Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
Xavier Woods, S, Louisiana Tech
Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
Treston DeCoud, CB, Oregon State
Adoree Jackson, CB, USC
Teez Tabor, CB, Florida
Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
Tedric Thompson, S, Colorado
Tarell Basham, DE, Ohio
Takk McKinley, DE, UCLA
Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida
Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova
JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC

It was no surprise that the above list was defensive heavy considering the free agency losses by the Cowboys on that side of the ball this offseason.

But the above list continues to grow. Wisconsin edge rusher T.J. Watt told NFL.com he was also scheduled for a visit in Dallas. And CBS Sports draft expert Dane Brugler, whom is co-host of The Draft Show on DallasCowboys.com revealed that Utah free safety Marcus Williams would also be visiting the Cowboys.

But Brugler’s revelations didn’t stop there. The highly respected draft analyst, who recently released his beastly 2017 NFL Draft Guide, reported that the Cowboys only have two offensive prospects on their entire 30 visits list.

"“This might be breaking some news, I don’t know if it’s out there yet. The Cowboys…[Curtis Samuel] is one of their top 30 visits,” revealed Brugler during the Rotoworld Football Podcast this week. “There’s only two offensive players on their top 30 list total. One of them is JuJu Smith-Schuster. And the other one is Curtis Samuel.”"

Again, this isn’t shocking news for anyone following the Cowboys this offseason, as the team has lost three starters on their defensive secondary from last season and continue to search for a premier pass rusher.

As for the two offensive prospects reported as Cowboy visitors, USC wide receiver Smith-Schuster is drawing comparisons to Anquan Boldin. While Samuel, a versatile running back who can also play receiver, was the primary back-up to current Cowboys starter Ezekiel Elliott at Ohio State until last season.

The fact the Dallas Cowboys are only bringing in two offensive players as part of their official 30 pre-draft visits could mean the team feels no prospect of note on that side of the ball will fall to them late in the first round. It’s a bit strange as the Cowboys have elected to draft for talent over need in the past. But considering their current roster situation, an all-defensive draft wouldn’t be inconceivable.
