Dallas Cowboys 2017 NFL Draft: Seven Round Mock 4.0
Round 2 (60th overall)
Cordrea Tankersley- 6’1″ 200 pounds- cornerback- Clemson
Tankersley is arguably as good as many of the cornerbacks that are likely to go at the end of the first round, and the depth at the position allows him to be available for the Dallas Cowboys at pick 60.
Tankersley is well put together physically, and knows how to use his length to disrupt receivers at the line of scrimmage and to make plays on the football.
Cordrea is a willing tackler in run support, which tends to be a trait that the Cowboys covet.
He thrives in press man coverage, but is also very skilled at executing cover 2. Dallas defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli tends to run a lot of both of these coverages, which means he will likely be impressed with Tankersley as a prospect.
He tends to struggle when asked to play off man coverage, where he gets an early drop and often allows separation on crossing routes.
If you let him play his physical style, he can be a quality starter at cornerback for the better part of a decade.
