Dallas Cowboys: Early 2017 Seven Round Mock Draft
By Jimmy Long
Third Round
And the Dallas Cowboys select…
Anthony Walker, LB, Northwestern
The Cowboys get back to defense in the third round, and snag a future starting linebacker.
Northwestern’s Anthony Walker is undersized for the NFL at 6’1″, 235 pounds.

And Walker isn’t as explosive as Sean Lee.
But the kid shows good football intelligence and he has a nose for the football.
He made around 10 tackles per game at Northwestern, which is impressive.
The junior recorded 120 total sacks, 19.0 tackles for a loss and 4.0 sacks in only 13 games last season.
Walker could possibly start day one for Dallas at left outside linebacker.
And the talented player provides an insurance policy in the middle if Jaylon Smith never recovers.
I could also see Walker as Lee’s future replacement, after developing for a few seasons.
