Second Round

And the Dallas Cowboys select…

Dede Westbrook, WR, Oklahoma

After adding a stud to their defense, the Cowboys address the offensive side of the ball, and add a former Heisman candidate to their receiving corps.  Westbrook will fill the void left by Terrance Williams, and probably be an upgrade across from Dez Bryant.

`Westbrook gives the Cowboys a true deep threat, and he’ll always require a safety over the top of him thanks to his blazing speed.  It is speculated that Dede will run the 40-yard dash in sub 4.4 time, which is outstanding for a receiver.

If you ever watched Westbrook at Oklahoma, you’re probably accustomed to seeing him constantly find himself behind the defense, scampering into the end zone for a score.  Just imagine how easily Dez would be able to victimize secondaries with a threat like Westbrook on the other side of the field.

With some time, Westbrook could develop his route running skills and become a truly elite wide receiver.  That would give the Cowboys an amazing threat opposite Dez Bryant, as he isn’t quite an elite route runner himself.
