Five thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys preseason so far
Don’t Call It A Comeback: Dez Bryant Returns
Ok. Call it a comeback.
I wonder how good that must have felt for number 88 to reach out and grab that touchdown pass? The wide receiver played in only nine games last year. The former 2010 first rounder caught 31 passes along with three touchdowns and 401 receiving yards.
The entire stat line mentioned above were career lows for the 27-year old.
What struck me was the expectation that Dez Bryant would not play along with Tony Romo, Jason Witten, and Ezekiel Elliott.
But play he did, despite what the owner and general manager, Jerry Jones, said.
His preseason catches had a weird tag line to it. Yes it happened in preseason, the first game of the first quarter no less. But it’s almost as if the Cowboys were intent on proving that the team is more “2014” than “2015.”
And you bet Bryant did a terrific 2014 impression. Is it time to use some Wite-Out on the 2015 year yet? I know the fans loved this TD grab, loving nothing more than to wash away 2015 memories.
Bottom line: Wow.
