Jaylon Smith, Linebacker

Before the potentially career ending injury, Jaylon Smith could well have been destined to be a Dallas Cowboy.

The Notre Dame Linebacker was one of the best players heading into the draft and was considered a nailed on top 5 pick.

While it was predicted he’d fall to the late rounds, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys used their pick at the top of the second round on Smith.

The decision was a huge shock, but since other teams have admitted they too would have taken a chance on Smith in the second round had he fallen to them.

"Been dreaming of this moment my entire life✍"

While the second round doesn’t bring as many dollars as the first, Smith will be delighted with the fact he has a future in the NFL. His deal according to Spotrac is valued at $6.4 million over four years; with over $4 million of that guaranteed.

Not bad for a player who in all likelihood won’t play until 2017.
