What does the current list of visitors tell us? Well, it gives an idea of the positions the Cowboys are focusing on. Six quarterbacks, five running backs and five defensive line prospects are currently penciled in.

Perhaps most notable are the names that aren’t listed. Dak Prescott has been a name that continues to be linked to the Cowboys. A third-fourth round prospect that needs work, but has a high ceiling.

Drafting Prescott would allow the Cowboys to nab a quarterback capable of backing up Tony Romo, but more importantly able to take over the mantle from number 9 when the time comes.

The fact Prescott has already met with the Cowboys on a number of occasions could mean they’re confident in their knowledge of the Mississippi State quarterback. Or as Brandon George from the Dallas Morning News suggests; the lack of a visit could just be there to cause a smokescreen.

"“I think there is interest there. Cowboys QBs coach Wade Wilson spent face-to-face time with Dak Prescott three times over the last three months in three different states. That would be a lot of effort for just a smokescreen. But they’re doing their homework on several QBs and should be prepared to take one in the first 4 rounds.”"
