With the Dallas Cowboys quiet this free agency, here are five things they got right and wrong so far.

Why so mad?

No, really: why is there so much madness about the lack of activity around the Dallas Cowboys’ free agency?

There is no doubt there were talented players roaming the market.

There’s also no doubt that the Cowboys can’t hand out big checks today without any negative repercussions in the future.

Take cornerback Brandon Carr as a prime example.

Carr walked over to Dallas as a free agent on March 14, 2012.

He inked a five-year contract worth $50.1 million, $26.5 million guaranteed with a $10 million signing bonus.

His salary on the books for 2015 was at $8 million.

And in 2016 he is set to make $9.1 million.

That’s a lot of zeroes for a guy who has zero interceptions the last two seasons over a span of 32 regular season games.

He also turns 30 this May.

You can see the free agency hesitation now, right?
