The Dallas Cowboys have a chance to pick up some talent through free agency. Is Dallas the right place for these five players who want a fresh start?

The RG3 story in Washington is over.

Could a new narrative be in place for the former first rounder in the City of Dallas?

Once touted as the city savior in the greater Washington area, Robert Griffin III is on the market looking for employment. The Redskins organization will save nearly $17 million against the salary cap with the move.

But that’s not all.

Washington has also released former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher. Hatcher, who ditched the team that drafted him, walked over to D.C. for a big pay-day. Hatcher, who turns 34 in July, was due a $6-million-dollar paycheck.

With the Boys spreading thin at the defensive front, due to Randy Gregory’s four-game suspension, the Cowboys need help with quarterback pressure.

Cornerback Brandon Carr – the $50-million-dollar man – will also hit the street. His partner in crime, and a former first rounder himself, Morris Claiborne has a propensity for inconsistent play and injuries.

Dallas had a secret weapon in cornerback Orlando Scandrick, but his 2015 season was cut short on August 25th with a torn right ACL and MCL during training camp. The five-foot-ten star turned 29 last month.

To sum it up: The Cowboys defense could use some help, badly.

Here are five free agents, on offense and defense, around the Cowboys’ radar – right now. Could these free agents have big impact ability for the 2016 season?

Let’s discuss and come up with the verdicts.
