Prescott combine scores last week were solid. A 40 time of 4.79 left him level with Connor Cook while in both the broad and vertical jumps he ranked 5th among quarterbacks. With a quarterback it’s clearly not just down to the workouts but what else they bring to a team- the intangibles.

2015 became the year of Greg Hardy for the Cowboys. The team seemed to wobble on the foundation that Jason Garrett had built. A ‘right kind of guy’ mentality where players had to be responsible as men as well as footballers on the field. If you want a player to tick all those Garrett like qualities then look no further than Prescott.

"“He is a special guy on and off the field. I read a lot about Prescott before I came here and my expectations were high because of the way people write about his exceptional character, humility, and his big heart. My expectations were, quite frankly, exceeded. There is something special about Prescott” – Kaylee Hartung, SEC Network"

Prescott grew up a Cowboys fan, and was at this years Senior Bowl where he would’ve met Garrett and Scott Linehan. During the Combine Linehan met with Prescott along with quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson and discussed the possibility of Dak one day playing for his boyhood team.

"“He told me they were thinking about getting a quarterback with one of those picks. He said if I work hard, things could work out.” – Dak Prescott"
