At the time of writing there’s been just one practice at the Senior Bowl, but scout Dane Brugler was impressed with the start made by Wentz.

"“…he didn’t disappoint in the week’s first practice. He wasn’t perfect, but there was far more good than bad…Wentz showed off his above average velocity, using his body rhythm and touch to accurately control the placement. The uptick in competition didn’t throw off his timing as he was able to quickly set up and fire strikes, as well as, completing a variety of passes to unfamiliar targets.” – Dane Brugler"

If Wentz isn’t the one for the Cowboys then there’s still Jared Goff, Paxton Lynch maybe even Connor Cook to consider – all who have round 1-2 draft grades.

This isn’t a vintage year for quarterback draftees- maybe the team go after a free agent such as Robert Griffin III, Sam Bradford, Brock Osweiller.

The Cowboys can afford to live another day if they choose to not draft a quarterback.

But if Tony Romo so much as misses one game in 2016 the decision of who is brought in to play under center will be the story of the NFL.

Stephen Jones, the future of this franchise is in your hands. Good luck.
