#6 – Byron Jones, Defensive Back

Byron Jones spent as much time at cornerback as he did safety in his rookie season.

And it’s the latter he’s graded as by PFF.

At 21st of 87 safeties, he’s the highest ranked rookie of the bunch.

And he fell within the top 20 for coverage play which isn’t surprising given his athleticism.

Shadowing some of the leagues best tight ends in Rob Gronkowski and Jordan Reed, the rookie was left nowhere to hide.

But the 2015 first round pick handled each task put in front of him.

The ceiling is remarkably high for this intelligent, determined defensive back.

If the Cowboys allow him to nail down a position, Jones could become a major component of the Dallas secondary for the foreseeable future.
