#9 – Doug Free, Right Tackle

Doug Free continues to be the forgotten man of this league wide appreciated offensive line.

Playing alongside a trio of first round picks has certainly helped improve his game and while he’s by no means perfect his partnership with Zack Martin really is special to watch.

While Zack often draws the plaudits his plays are rarely made without the assistance of Free.

Grading out at 27th of 81 tackles, it’s a very respectable position for Free to be in.

In general the O-Line excelled in run blocking but left plenty to be desired when it came to pass protection.

Free actually scored far better in pass protection than run blocking but in film you’ll see it’s on the outside edge he struggles often beaten by speed and unable to adjust.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Dad of the O Line and while it’s imperative the Cowboys begin to consider life after him, there’s no reason whatsoever to cut ties just yet.
