Cowboys should cut Greg Hardy if…
The Dallas Cowboys should be talking about quarterback Matt Cassel‘s three interceptions. The focus should be around the visiting 3-4 Seattle Seahawks, who have appeared in the last two Super Bowls.
Dallas should be focusing on their 2-4 record, and the playoff lights dimming after four straight losses. The talk should be about how the team is going to steal a few wins while offensive leaders Tony Romo and Dez Bryant heal.
But apparently, there are other things to discuss.
The Cowboys are busy watering down defensive end Greg Hardy‘s antics. Slapping a clipboard out of a coach’s hand is not acceptable. Talking about Tom Brady‘s wife and former Victoria Secret model Gisele Bundchen, isn’t something that should make headlines either.
The Cowboys and head coach Jason Garrett should suspend Hardy for at least one game. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones knew what he was getting when he signed Hardy, one of the most talented defensive ends in the game right now.

Now he has to take responsibility for it.
Letting this slide makes the Cowboys look bad — really bad. Garrett and company are basically saying it’s okay to shove coaches and other players around if you’re an “A” performer.
This suggests that Hardy, who is 27, is bigger than everyone on the team, that he is above the law — if there even is one with Dallas management at the moment.
Not one coach or player is bigger than the Dallas Cowboys, certainly not Greg Hardy. Just ask Terrell Owens.
According to ESPN staff writer Todd Archer, Garrett has elected to not discipline Hardy after the altercations that included Devin Street, Dez Bryant, and special-teams coach Rich Bisaccia.
I appreciate a little fire and emotion in players. I think there should be more of it. I do not think shoving your teammates around and berating others qualifies you as a leader. It’s makes you a bona fide idiot in my eyes.
If there are more interviews in the future with Hardy saying things like “no comment” or “next question,” it is time to evaluate.
With one more strike the solution is simple: The Cowboys need to cut Hardy.
Random Thoughts:
• I think the Cowboys should abandon the running back rotation committee and hand it off to one guy. Darren McFadden looked pretty good, don’t you think? It took an injured Joseph Randle to sideline the rotation idea, but it certainly paid off with McFadden going for 152 yards on 29 carries, with one touchdown.
• I think the Cowboys are missing a big opportunity right now to develop Tony Romo’s replacement. Instead, the Cowboys are bridging their hopes with Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel.
• I think defensive back Byron Jones has really stepped it up the past two games. Jones finished with seven tackles against the New York Giants, which was tied for second place on the team. Sean Lee led with nine tackles (what’s new).
• This Giants game is hard to swallow. The Cowboys won the total yards battle (460 to 289), won the time of possession (38:04 to 21:56), and had more first downs (27 to 13). But Dallas had four turnovers while New York was pretty at zero.
