Dallas Cowboys: Fantasy Flops

Back in June, I wrote about which Dallas Cowboys players could make a fantasy impact to teams this year.
With five games complete, just how well are the Cowboys faring as fantasy options.
Has your reach for Romo ruined your season?
Has the desperate pick of the Dallas defense surprised?
Let’s take a look.
Quarterback
If your team contained Tony Romo then any hope of fantasy glory is probably long gone.
Romo threw the 4th most number of touchdowns in the league last year and was a very satisfying quarterback to own.

As Romo’s season went down the pan against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2, so too did the Cowboys Super Bowl dreams and your fantasy hopes.
Brandon Weeden only has seven more fantasy points than Romo despite playing nearly twice as many games.
After Week 1 we saw Romo rank as the 6th best quarterback in fantasy with three passing touchdowns against the New York Giants.
But after five games Weeden ranks 33rd with Romo 35th.
This week the Cowboys confirmed the starting spot now belongs to journeyman veteran Matt Cassel.
As a starter for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2010 Cassel managed to finish the year with 229 fantasy points, good enough for 12th place overall.
After the offensively devoid game against the Patriots, even a bit of mediocre quarterback play would do right now.
