Greg Hardy: Graphic rap video shows he still doesn’t get it (Watch)

After being out of football for over a year and serving four games of an original ten game suspension, the Dallas Cowboys and their fans are eagerly awaiting the debut of Pro Bowl Greg Hardy in Sliver and Blue this Sunday. And understandably so, as the Cowboys are reeling after suffering two straight losses in the wake of injuries to many of their star players.

But Hardy has done himself no favors this week when it comes to the media. In his first interview with reporters following his month long absence, the 27-year old defensive end showed next to no remorse for the actions that caused him to be suspended in the first place. Early last year, Hardy was involved in a domestic violence incident. Although he was eventually cleared of those charges, the NFL found enough evidence to suspend the talented pass rusher for violating it’s Personal Conduct Policy.

Upon his return this week, Hardy shared his enthusiasm at the opportunity of playing for America’s Team. But demonstrated zero sensitivity when it came to the subject of his suspension.

"Remorse? Hardy said the only thing he regrets is not being here for his teammates the first four games of the season as he served his suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. He called the ordeal that precedes his return to the field “the most awesome period of my life.” – Source: Dallas Morning News"

The veteran defensive end also made references to “guns blazing” when he returns to the field, the attractiveness of New England quarterback Tom Brady‘s wife (hoping she brings her sister and friends to the game), and also the beauty of the wife of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles. Hardy admitted he was being deflective, but his comments did him no favors.

In fact, his answers confirmed what many suspected: Greg Hardy simple doesn’t get it. The 6-5, 280 pound man-child still sees himself as a victim. And it’s killing his public image while distancing himself from his fan base, what’s left of it. The road to redemption for Hardy is acceptance and reconciliation. Not arrogance and ignoring the issue.

"“[Hardy] really is crazy,” NFL Network reporter Albert Breer told The Sports Hub during a radio interview this week. “His comments were reprehensible. That he would come out and reference women at all shows how tone deaf he is. This is what the Cowboys for a better or worse bought into. This is not a good human being.”"

As if it couldn’t get any worse, TMZ Sports has now uncovered an obscenity-laced rap video Hardy apparently made during his year long forced sabbatical away from the NFL. In the music video, the young pass rusher raps alongside an artist called Ja Alan. The video shows various scenes of scantily clad women, the use of gun fire sound effects, and other tropes of the rap genre. On the heels of his recent interview faux pas, to say this video’s discovery was badly timed is quite the understatement.

Update: Although the song and video appeared to be produced in late 2014 (after Hardy’s domestic violence incident), the music video was not uploaded to YouTube until August 31, 2015. As the video was uploaded under and by the artist Ja Alan, it wasn’t discovered by TMZ Sports until today.

If Hardy is looking to lose as many fans as possible in one week, he’s likely accomplished his goal. You can watch the explicit, NSFW video at the link below.
