Dallas Cowboys vs 49ers: The good, the bad and the ugly

The Ugly:

Special Teams: While it was tempting to include Dustin Vaughan in this section too, the special teams deserved a mention too.

Missing field goals, tackles and focus there’s no hiding from scrutiny for the Cowboys special teams unit right now.

And when the big boss Jerry Jones is worried, it’s time to buck up.

"“I am concerned about special teams, because those guys have to take what we’re missing out there tonight, and they’ve got to meld together as a unit. It’s one of the real challenges that you have and at the same time put the 53 together that we want to.”- Jerry Jones"

It’s too soon for Jason Garrett and coaches to panic though, with the vast majority of those on special teams duties yesterday competing long term for peripheral spots on the roster.

Next weekend’s game against the Minnesota Vikings will likely be a chance to see the first team on the field together.

If so, it ought to be a far prettier affair then yesterday was.
