Postseason: Green Bay (3) vs. Dallas (4)
Last Meeting: January 11, 2015 (NFC Divisional Playoffs)

The eighth game in Dallas Cowboys history came in 1960 against the team that would lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Championship Game at Franklin Field: The Green Bay Packers, led by legendary head coach Vince Lombardi.

Dallas lost a real nail-biter by a score of 41-7 – and there would be many more setbacks for the young Dallas franchise against Lombardi.

In fact, the Cowboys were 0-6 lifetime against the Packers, which included two losses in NFL Championship games, before getting their first victory against Green Bay in 1970.

Dallas would exact some well deserved revenge against the Packers during the Super Bowl-era of the 1990s, the young dynasty reeling off six-straight wins in a three season span from 1993-1995 – each game taking place at Texas Stadium and obviously including three postseason victories.

If not for a rare two-game regular season sweep of Dallas during the pathetic 1989 regular season, the Cowboys might have won an incredible 14 games in a row against Green Bay from 1978-1996.

Despite the “Ice Bowl” back in 1967 at Lambeau Field and also last season’s Divisional playoff, unofficially dubbed “Ice Bowl II,” Dallas still enjoys a postseason edge over the Packers with a record of 4-3, thanks only to a second round playoff win, again at Texas Stadium, during the strike-shortened season of 1982.

All in all, however, Green Bay has doled out plenty of punishment to the Cowboys during the regular season in tallying an overall record of 13-12.

Dallas can draw even next season when it travels to Lambeau once again on December 13. The Packers currently have a four-game winning streak against the Cowboys dating back to 2009.
