7. Charles Tillman, Cornerback

Previous Team: Chicago Bears
2013 Stats: 42 tkls, 7 pds, 3 ints

Analysis: Despite his age, Tillman is only two years removed from being one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. That just happened to be the last season he played under current Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli.
The two-time Pro Bowler (2010, 2011) has had a run of bad luck ever since Marinelli left Chicago. The veteran cornerback tore his triceps in Week Two of last season ending his year prematurely for the second season in a row. Tillman also missed eight games of the 2013 regular season to the same injury.
Maybe a change of scenario and a return to Marinelli will lift the injury curse off of Tillman. A potential move to safety could also help resurrect Dallas’ defensive backfield.
The inventor of the Peanut Punch, Tillman recorded an amazing 10 forced fumbles in 2012, along with 85 tackles, 16 passes defended, three interceptions and three defensive touchdowns. Personally, I think Peanut would be a perfect fit in Dallas.
