10. Zack Martin, Guard

From the moment the Dallas Cowboys opted to draft Zack Martin over Johnny ‘Football’ Manziel, the two became intrinsically linked. When Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had a desperately poor performance Week One versus the San Francisco 49ers, people started to question the decision to pass over the rookie quarterback. But now four games into the season with a 3-1 record, an improving Romo and MVP performances from running back DeMarco Murray the questioning should stop. CBS Sports anchor Babe Laufenberg provided the tweet of the season so far with:

During training camp in Oxnard this Summer, Martin reportedly shadowed last years draft pick Travis Frederick. He trained with him, ate with him, hung out with him. And his veteran like performances on the field have mirrored that of Frederick’s in his rookie year. During camp offensive coordinator Bill Callahan described how Zack had exactly the right attitude and style of play.

"“He’s got such a great passion when you watch him play. It just oozes out of him on the field. He’s aggressive. He’s everything you want in a guard that can protect on the move and make the adjustments you have to make in the running game. He’s a really good athlete.”"

Travis Frederick bowled people over with his play in 2013, so it’s quite something to think that just four games into his NFL career Martin is playing even better. We’re only scratching the surface on the young man’s ability. Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin improving together for the next ten years? Yes please.
