Congratulations to Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin, who made his first Pro Bowl. He joined five other Dallas Cowboys in getting the nod for the Jan. 31 game. The other Cowboys who will be heading to the Pro Bowl are Jason Witten, DeMarcus Ware, Leonard Davis, Andre Gurode and Jay Ratliff. Austin has had an amazing season so far. The question is echoing through the Web: Was Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo snubbed in the Pro Bowl vote? The answer certainly is more difficult to answer than last season. Romo is the only quarterback in Cowboys history of great throwers who has amassed 4,000 yards in a season, and he has done it twice. There is a lot riding on the Dallas Cowboys game tonight against the Washington Redskins.  With the NY Giants losing big-time at Carolina today, a Cowboys victory puts them in the playoffs. It wasn’t long ago when the Redskins almost beat the Cowboys in a 7-6 game that was as boring to watch as the score indicates. The 9-5  Dallas Cowboys head to FedEx Field on Sunday to play the 4-10 Washington Redskins, with a chance to clinch a playoff spot if the New York Giants lose. The Redskins were destroyed last week against a surging Giants team hanging by a thin thread to make the playoffs. They were beaten so bad that Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell said he thought some players quit trying in the game. That’s blatantly attacking the integrity of his teammates. Williams will have that leisure because Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips is giving Christmas Day off to his players. “I think you lose a lot [by practicing] on Christmas Day,” Phillips said. “[They have] families, a lot of them have kiddoes and stuff. The Dallas Cowboys released embattled field goal kicker Nick Folk, one day after he missed a 23-yard field goal and almost cost the Cowboys the 24-17 victory over the Saints. The Cowboys quickly signed Shaun Suisham, who ironically was released by the Redskins after he missed a 23-yard field goal. Signing Suisham does not come as a surprise.
