Power Rankings: Week 11
| # | +/- | Team | Comment | |
| 1 | – | ![]() |
New York Giants | Titans can be undefeated all they want, but they have yet to man-handle a playoff contender the way that the Giants man-handled the Ravens on Sunday. |
| 2 | – | ![]() |
Tennessee Titans | Still the team to beat in the AFC, but not the best team in the league. |
| 3 | – | ![]() |
New York Jets |
With Brett Favre, anything can happen. I want to predict a big win over the Titans on Sunday.
|
| 4 | – | ![]() |
Pittsburgh Steelers | The Steelers are built for December and on, they definitely know how to win ugly. |
| 5 | +2 | ![]() |
Carolina Panthers | I’m not sold on the Panthers. They seem to skim by bad teams every week. With the Falcons and Buccaneers in this division, I think it could get interesting down the stretch. |
| 6 | – | ![]() |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | I don’t think I’m sold on this team either, but we shall see. (No one was sold on them last year and they made it to the playoffs)
|
| 7 | -2 | ![]() |
Arizona Cardinals | Lucky for them they should have 6 “gimme” wins in their pitiful division. I don’t know if they can stay tough in the cold weather playoff games. |
| 8 | +4 | ![]() |
Dallas Cowboys | The Dallas Cowboys are not the same posse without Sheriff Romo in the lineup. Lucky for us… Heeeeeee’s Baaaaaack! |
| 9 | – | ![]() |
Atlanta Falcons | They lost a heart breaker to the Broncos, but I still think they are the best team in the NFC South. If not the BEST, then certainty the most COMPLETE! |
| 10 | +3 | ![]() |
Indianaopolis Colts | The Colts show flashes of the Colts, but they better make it stick before December hits. |
| 11 | -1 | ![]() |
Washington Redskins | The Redskins are still a tough football team, but it doesn’t look like they’re built for the long haul. |
| 12 | +2 | ![]() |
New England Patriots | Do the Patriots have a QB controversy? Maybe not, but I bet they lose their back-up in the off season. |
| 13 | -5 | ![]() |
Baltimore Ravens | Hmm… Lets see… How could I explain…. POUNDED! I hate to admit this, but the Giants are scary. Don’t believe me, just ask the Ravens.
|
| 14 | -3 | ![]() |
Miami Dolphins | The Dolphins have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Say that slow and listen really close. Isn’t that crazy?!
|
| 15 | +4 | ![]() |
Denver Broncos | Everyone including myself is a Bronco hater. Not because I hate them, but because my Cowboys are so good and have to fight their hearts out to make the playoffs in such a tough division. The Broncos on the other hand, can play with them selves and go 8-8 and still make it, so can the Cardinals. Something has to be done about this ridiculousness! |
| 16 | – | ![]() |
Green Bay Packers | They embarrassed the Bears on Sunday. Until the Bears rebound on that loss, everyone on the L Hat has to refer to them as the Teddy Bears.
|
| 17 | +1 | ![]() |
Chicago Bears | Aww, what fluffy little Teddy Bears! |
| 18 | -3 | ![]() |
Minnesota Vikings |
The Vikings lost this game more that the Buccaneers won it. They can’t afford another loss if they want to stay close to the surging Packers. |
| 19 | -2 | ![]() |
Buffalo Bills |
Fire your kicker!!!!!!
|
| 20 | – | ![]() |
Philadelphia Eagles | This team doesn’t deserve to make the playoffs with the douchebag at quarterback claiming he didn’t know regular season games had ties. Idiot. Losers. “I didn’t know there was such thing as getting in shape for a Super bowl” -The one, The only, #5 |
| 21 | – | ![]() |
New Orleans Saints | One more loss and your done! |
| 22 | +1 | ![]() |
San Diego Chargers | Stick a fork in ‘em! |
| 23 | +1 | ![]() |
Cleveland Browns | Good, hard fought win over the Bills. Dear NFL, think before you schedule next year. I feel like I’m watching the Browns every weekend. |
| 24 | -2 | ![]() |
Jacksonville Jaguars | So close…. Yet, so far back from the Titans. They may have blown it on Sunday. |
| 25 | +5 | ![]() |
San Frasisco 49ers | They looked so good! Wait, who did they play again? |
| 26 | -1 | ![]() |
Houston Texans | This team always fights until the fourth quarter, then they lose. It’s like there trademark for 2008. |
| 27 | – | ![]() |
Kansas City Chiefs | I really like this new QB, but they should rest him for next year. |
| 28 | -2 | ![]() |
Cincinnati Bengals |
They played one of the all time, ugliest games I have ever had the displeasure of watching! At least they didn’t lose. Wait, they didn’t win though. Do you mean to tell me that theres ties in football? |
| 29 | – | ![]() |
Seattle Seahawks | Keep up the good work Julius, I miss you more and more every time I see MBIII pound the rock! |
| 30 | -2 | ![]() |
Oakland Raiders | I heard that in February, all Cable will be terminated. The Raiders better switch to digital. |
| 31 | – | ![]() |
St. Louis Rams | I still can’t believe that this team beat the Cowboys and the Redskins. |
| 32 | – | ![]() |
Detroit Lions | I hope this team plays spoiler to some NFC wild card contenders!! |
*MY POWER STANDINGS AFTER WEEK 11
Buccaneers
Falcons
Saints
1. Ravens
2. Dolphins
1. Falcons
2. Redskins

I think the JETS at 3 is a little TOO high. They are better suited for 7th or 8th.
November 18th, 2008 at 10:47 pm1-Titans
2-Giants
3-Steelers
4-Panthers
5-Cowboys
Yeah I disagreed with a few of his ranks. But it all can be argued. I’d put the COwboys at 10th. Stop drinking the Kool Aid
November 18th, 2008 at 10:56 pmSo guys…a bet is a bet. I think I’m supposed to write something. I honor my bets, but I need a topic. The last suggestion I heard was “Why I’d want Jerry Jones to be my team’s owner.” Should I stick with that or write something else? Landry Hat is the final decision maker but I’m sure he’d welcome suggestions from the peanut gallery.
November 19th, 2008 at 12:06 amdo it about why Jason Witten is the best player of all time… L hat would love that !!!
i think we would all agree that his man-crush is on Witten !! haha …
mine is split 3 ways between WARE, MBIII, and ROMO!!
November 19th, 2008 at 12:54 amYa i thought hard about the Jets ranking… but i think that they are more solid than the Panthers, Steelers and Buccaneers…
I was tempted to put the Cowboys higher, but ill wait a little bit.
Let me add that if the Jets beat the Titans on Sunday, you will all be on my Jets wagon.
November 19th, 2008 at 12:56 amI’m on your Jets wagon, Iron Man. Thomas Jones looks like a completely new player, Leon Washington is the 2nd fastest kid alive and their defense has forced 9 turnovers in the last 3 games. Favre should be glad that he came back. Aside from the Titans, the rest of the Jets schedule looks pretty favorable. I think they’ll close out the season either 4-2 or 3-3, putting them at either 11-5 or 10-6 and in the playoffs.
I love bets, RG. One time, my friend bet another Cowboys fan that the Panthers would beat the Cowboys. The loser would have to paint the winning team’s logo on his face and do a shotgun for every point his team lost by. Your fate involves less face paint and a lot less puking. My vote for your post is how Michael Irvin is the best receiver ever from the NFC East. You must point out how he’s better than Art Monk.
November 19th, 2008 at 1:38 am*wince*
November 19th, 2008 at 1:43 pmWe did lose on the day Art Monk received his hall of fame ring. Still, that one makes me flinch just thinking about it.
RG… i must admit i wanted you to be tortured and destroyed when you came on here running your mouth after the Skins beat us at the begining of the year… It was un-like you..you were almost as bad as ian… But my respect for you has come back in a big way after seeing your sportmanship after this loss…
You and you alone… make me hate the Giants and Eagles more than the skins(for now)
November 19th, 2008 at 2:06 pmThanks Iron Man. I’m a firm believer in both living it up when you win and taking your lumps when you lose. You have to be willing to do both though; that’s the critical part. If you talk big when your team wins and then disappear or make excuses when your team loses you’re just a little punk. I’m no punk.
The first victory over Dallas was especially glorious because nobody saw it coming; people were ready to hand Dallas the superbowl trophy and those same people were ready to put the Redskins on the clock for the first pick of the draft next year after that Giants loss. So yeah I lived it up and I’m not too ashamed of rubbing it in. It’s part of the rivalry and was intended in good fun.
But now my team has demonstrated that they are an average to slightly above average team after all. I am fully willing to sleep in the bed I’ve made and suck it up. I bear no malice for anyone who wants to gloat over your triumph and I hope you don’t hold it against me if I do the same if the Redskins win next year. That’s why we have a rivalry.
Anyway I hope that explains my actions and viewpoint a little better. I’m sorry if I went too far; being compared to Ian is not a pleasant experience. Just remember how much sweeter last week’s victory was for you because I was there being a jackass earlier in the season. Just know that after the game I had to spend hours driving home with a cowboys fan in the car while a terrible hangover was starting to assert itself. And you know what? I wouldn’t take it back. Victory would not be sweet if losses weren’t painful.
So next year we’ll be back and ready to go again! And I’ll still be here win or lose!
November 19th, 2008 at 4:54 pmit could be sooner than that… We could still meet in the NFC Championship…
November 19th, 2008 at 5:34 pmTrue. Then we can break the tie for the year. The only thing is…would you want home field advantage knowing that the home team has always lost?
November 19th, 2008 at 5:40 pmGood point RG. Redskins/Cowboys games never seem to follow the script
