What Time is the NFL Draft tonight?
By Jerry Trotta
The 2024 NFL Draft has finally arrived. To say the Dallas Cowboys need to hit a home run this year would be a comprehensive understatement. Not only did the Cowboys sit on the sidelines during free agency, but their 2023 draft class produced nothing as a collective in year one.
Luckily, the roster is still littered with high-end talent. Already a good team on paper, a strong draft could propel Dallas into the "great" conversation. That's what happened with the Detroit Lions last year. They drafted four impact players and that made all the difference given the talent they already had in place.
With so much at stake, Cowboys fans will be tuned in on Thursday night. But what time are the fireworks expected to start?
What time does Round 1 of the NFL Draft start?
The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft will start at 7 p.m. CT. Every team is given 10 minutes to submit their first pick. Taking that and potential trades into consideration, the Cowboys may wait three hours to pick given they have the No. 24 overall pick. You can watch the first round on ESPN, ABC and NFL Network.
What time does Round 2 of the NFL Draft start?
Round two of the 2024 NFL Draft will start at 6 p.m. CT on Friday. The Cowboys own the No. 56 overall pick in the second round. The third round will also be held on Friday. It will start as soon as the final pick of the second round is made. Dallas will pick 87th overall in round three.
What time does Day 3 of the NFL Draft start?
Day three consists of the fourth, fifth, sixth and seven rounds. It will start at 11 a.m. CT and should have a four-hour shelf life. The Cowboys don't have a fourth-round pick, but they pick No. 174 overall in the fifth, No. 216 overall in the sixth, No. 233 overall in the seventh and No. 244 in the seventh. It'll be interesting to see if Dallas uses one of these four picks as trade bait to move up into the fourth round.
