Cowboys finally build around Dak Prescott in final 2024 mock draft
2. 56th overall: Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky
On top of getting an extension done with CeeDee Lamb in the near future, another move the Cowboys can make in this draft to show Dak Prescott their support for him is to go and get a legit #2 receiver to pair with Lamb.
The Cowboys are going to need to go cost-controlled after the failed deal with Michael Gallup and Brandin Cooks being on the back nine of his NFL career. Someone like Malachi Corley could be exactly what the Cowboys need if he's available in this pick slot. Corley has tremendous size, toughness, and after-the-catch ability.
Having this kind of offense creator to take pressure off of CeeDee Lamb would be huge for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys offense.
3. 87th overall: Blake Corum, RB, Michigan
Even after adding Royce Freeman in free agency, the Cowboys need to add someone who can carry a big workload at the running back position. It feels like there's a huge variance in opinion on Blake Corum, and while it's hard to see him lasting this deep into the draft, you just never know.
Corum is the type of player the Cowboys might even mortgage some future draft capital for to land sometime in round three. He's a tough, physical back with a nose for the end zone, and he plays all three downs. This isn't a top-heavy running back class, but a player like Corum could make life a little easier for Dak Prescott.
