Cowboys News: Dak Prescott becoming a dad, former Dallas QB on the move, DaRon Bland

Former Cowboys QB Will Grier waived by the Patriots
Prescott was emotional after the Cowboys released Will Grier after preseason.
The writing was on the wall in terms of Grier's future after Dallas traded for Trey Lance. Grier balled out in the team's final preseason game, which served as a de facto tryout. After Grier threw for 305 yards and two TDs, he was swiflty scooped up by the Bengals.
Before long, the Patriots signed Grier off the Bengals practice squad just ahead of their Week 4 matchup against the Cowboys. On Saturday, New England waived Grier before their Week 12 game against the Giants.
Given the poor play of quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe, it was speculated Grier could start the game. When all was said and done, the former Cowboy didn't appear in a game for the Patriots, serving as the team's emergency third-string QB for seven games.
