1. Trevon Diggs

With no fifth-year option on Diggs' contract, the Cowboys have two options with their star cornerback: sign him to a long-term extension before next March, or franchise tag him for about $18 million next year.

It'll be interesting to see what happens there, as Diggs would be justified in asking for somewhere around $21 million per year. The Packers' Jaire Alexander currently makes the most annually among corners at $21 million, while the Browns' Denzel Ward checks in second with a $20.1 million annual average value.

Since he entered the league two years ago, Diggs' 17 interceptions are tied for the most among defenders. His 11 interceptions in 2021 tied a Cowboys record for the most in a single season, and he took his game to another level last season by becoming more reliable in man coverage.

While Diggs is susceptible to getting burned for long touchdowns, he's done well to balance jumping routes with staying disciplined. He needs to improve as a run defender and tackler in the open field, but he's paid to lockdown opposing WR1s, and there isn't many corners in the game better at it than the 24-year-old.

If Diggs puts together another Diggs-esque season in 2023, Dallas might have no other choice but to make him the NFL's highest-paid corner.
