1. Philadelphia Eagles

The number one spot should be no surprise.

The Cowboys will face the defending NFC champs and NFC East champs twice during the season and they will be Dallas’ toughest opponents. The Eagles are coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs and have a top-10 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

When these teams faced off last year, both times featured a different set of quarterbacks. In their first matchup in Week 6, it was Cooper Rush vs. Jalen Hurts. Then, in Week 16, it was Prescott vs. Gardner Minshew.

As a matter of fact, Prescott and Hurts have only faced off against each other once so far in their careers. That was in September of the 2021 season. Assuming both are healthy next season, it will be a great battle between two top quarterbacks in the NFC.

Despite Philadelphia’s recent success though, Prescott has been unstoppable against this NFC East rival. He has a career 8-3 record facing the Eagles and has thrown for 2,757 yards and 19 touchdowns.

In fact, Prescott has been so good against the Eagles recently that in his last three games, he has thrown for 11 touchdowns with one only interception. He also helped the Cowboys score at least 40 points in all three of those games as well.

The Eagles lost a couple of valuable pieces this offseason, including Miles Sanders, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Marcus Epps, and T.J. Edwards. But they should still be one of the best teams in the NFL.

At least one of the two games against the Eagles will surely be a primetime game for the Cowboys. Philadelphia comes in fourth on ESPN’s latest power rankings before the draft.
