1. Dorance Armstrong, DE

You can never have too many pass rushers in today’s pass-dominant NFL. Defensive end/edge rusher is the second-most important position behind quarterback, so a player like Armstrong would be a welcome addition for most teams.

It admittedly took Armstrong a while to find his footing in the league, but he’s really hit his stride the last two seasons.

Armstrong’s showing in 2021 (five sacks and 12 QB hits in 13 games) earned him a two-year extension last offseason, and he responded accordingly with a career season, posting personal bests in sacks (eight), tackles for loss (10), quarterback hits (16), defensive stops (23) and pressures (40).

If Dallas is keen on re-signing Fowler like reports suggest, Armstrong suddenly becomes expendable. If traded, the Cowboys have Sam Williams to fill Armstrong’s workload, and they could draft another edge rusher for the fifth rotation spot behind DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons.

Still just 25 years old, on an expiring contract, and fresh off notching eight sacks, Armstrong certainly has value around the league.
