2. Cowboys Injuries are Starting to Stack up

The Cowboys have had their fair share of injuries to deal with this year, from Michael Gallup missing the first part of the season due to an ACL tear from last season, to Tyron Smith being sidelined all year (until this Sunday) due to an injury sustained in practice. Both of them played against Jacksonville, but following the tilt, more key players are now on the injury list.

Leighton Vander Esch became the biggest name on the list after exiting the game on Sunday fairly early with an apparent neck injury. In a bout of good news, it seems the injury is just a shoulder issue, which shouldn’t be season-ending.

Dorance Armstrong also went down with injury again this week, and Jason Peters took a brief rest mid-game before returning. Add these to the list of players with season-ending injuries, including Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis, and Terence Steele, and that makes four or five starters expected to miss games this until the end of the season.

The injury bug is hitting the ‘Boys at a really bad time, with the playoffs just around the corner. Perhaps the team should consider being more careful with how much they are playing their starters, with the No. 5 essentially locked up at this point.
