1. Tony Pollard

According to the NBC broadcast, Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard are only competitive with one another in their off-the-field Call of Duty battles. In the backfield? The two men reportedly agree on numerical goals prior to every game, then do their best to help the team and match those numbers together.

On Sunday night, Zeke was solid, as usual. Pollard was particularly electric.

Pollard’s final touchdown, a tiptoe job down the left sideline where he blazed past the entire defense behind Tyler Smith’s lead block, felt inevitable. Like a hot ‘back through butter. There were defenders everywhere. None of them could catch him. None of them were close.

Not an every-down back, but certainly something more than a gadget piece, Pollard finished Sunday night with 91 rushing yards on 12 carries, a wild (and somehow also typical) 7.6 yards per carry. He also caught two passes for 15 yards and sniffed out the end zone twice. As has been the case for every player on this list, though, the energy he brought wasn’t entirely captured in those numbers.

Pollard, Lamb, and Wilson/Hooker/Honorable Mention DaRon Bland played at a different level in this contest, and when the floodgates completely opened in a ridiculous fourth quarter, it was all thanks to their hard work.

And oh, at the end of the game, who was there to benefit from Pollard’s lightning strikes? Zeke, whose legs were still fresh enough to hop into the Salvation Army kettle and turn this one into an even louder laugher.
